As a child, I would play in our garden. I’d run around pretending to be a witch who lived in a magical forest. I mixed all kinds of berries, leaves and flowers together in an attempt to make something extraordinary happen. My imagination ran wild and I was rarely bored, my mind was always brimming with impossible ideas and imaginary worlds to explore.
Going through different obsessions over the years, the one thing that has always stuck with me is my sense of wonder and curiosity about all things magic. Books and stories are filled with it. They possess the ability to transport us to worlds both real and imaginary. Stories are able to make us forget time and space, keeping us captivated for hours. And sometimes you find a story that makes a lasting impression, it stays with you as a reminder perhaps, or for reasons too abstract to fully comprehend. I love reading, the magic of books never ceases to amaze me. And the search for the perfect story never ends.
