The third week (and a half) of the magical readathon is over and now there's only five days left to complete the exams. I’m still on track with only one book remaining on my tbr and that is the illustrated edition of The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. I'm about half way through, taking my time to really appreciate all of the illustrations. I really love this readathon and I’m in awe of how much effort and soul G from Book Roast has put in to it. It truly is magical! Exams Completed This week I completed four exams. Two of which I loved, one I disliked and one that disappointed me. In addition to that, I've diverged from my original TBR as well. Sometimes for the better and sometimes … [Read more...]
A Magical Update #2: O.W.L’s Readathon 2019
The second week of this magical readathon is now over. It feels like time is moving so fast. I didn't finish as many exams this week as I did in the first week, but I still managed to read a couple of books. Right now I'm working my way through Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor for the Transfiguration exam. And guys, this book is exactly what I want right now. Why did I wait two years to read it?? Exams Completed As you can tell from the two exams I completed this past week, I went all out on the Ancient Greek front. My book for the History of Magic is pretty historic, which is kind of perfect. Not very magical though, but my pick for Ancient Runes was. I'm still on top of my tbr and … [Read more...]
A Magical Update #1: O.W.L’s Readathon 2019
The first week of O.W.Ls is almost over and it's time to do a quick update on how my exams are going. On Saturday I participated in Dewey's 24hr Readathon as well as the magical all nighter hosted by the lovely magical readathon creator, G from Book Roast. During that, I managed to complete three of the exams and start a fourth. As of writing I'm working on my ancient runes exam and I can already tell that Circe by Madeline Miller is going to be five stars! Exams Completed As I've already mentioned I managed to complete quite a few exams this past week. That means that I'm definitely on track to complete all twelve exams so I can pursue the career of alchemist. Arithmancy — My … [Read more...]
O.W.L’s Readathon 2019 TBR
O.W.L's is a Harry Potter themed readathon hosted by Book Roast on YouTube. It's happening the entire month of April, so it's not too late to join. If you're interested in what it's all about, you can watch the announcement here. Artwork by Book Roast Something new this year is careers. G from Book Roast has created this amazing PDF of different magical careers and which grades are required to pursue those careers. Since I'm an ambitious Slytherin, I've decided to have a go at the career with the most requirements. That's right, I'm going to try to complete all twelve exams (reading prompts) in order to hopefully become an Alchemist. Without further ado, here are the books I'm … [Read more...]
BookTube-A-Thon 2018 TBR
It's that time of year again. This year will be my third time participating, and second year documenting it here on my blog. If you're a fan of booktube, I'm sure you've heard of BookTube-A-Thon. If not, it's an annual event hosted by the always awesome Ariel Bissett. From July 30th till August 5th the goal is to read as much as possible. There are seven reading challenges, as well as video challenges and I think even bookstagram challenges to do if you want to. Here are the seven reading challenges along with the books I plan on reading: 1/ Let a coin toss decide your first read. I want to start off with something potentially heartwarming, so the two options for the coin toss will be … [Read more...]
(A Very Ambitious) Readathon by Zoë TBR
Tomorrow, Saturday March 3rd Zoë from the youtube channel ReadbyZoe is hosting a 24-hour readathon. There are no rules or challenges, but like Zoë, I'll be trying to catch up on a series. I'm so excited, it's my first time really participating in a 24-hour readathon. The official hashtag on twitter is #readathonbyzoe, I'll be trying to post regularly throughout the readathon on there. I'm only planning on reading one book, and I'm almost absolutely certain I won't be able to finish it. It's one I've wanted to read ever since it came out last year, but never got around to because I didn't want to deal with the inevitable pain I'll suffer reading it before the next book comes out in … [Read more...]
The House Cup Reading Challenge: Update #1
We're a little over halfway through the house cup reading challenge, so I thought it was time to do an update of what I've read so far. As I always, I changed my tbr a bit. What a surprise. I'm very much a mood reader, so I'd say it was unavoidable that I'd switch it up instead of following what I planned to read. It has been a very productive readathon for me this far. I've already read 8 books. Most of them are really great, and a couple have even become new favorites. Main Challenges (20p) I've completed five out of seven main challenges, which are the ones that are worth most points. I feel very on top of schedule, even though I mixed up my tbr a bit as I've already … [Read more...]

Space Readathon Wrap-Up: September 2017
The space readathon ended on Thursday the 21st of September. It was short, but I still managed to read a reasonable amount of pages. I didn't get to all of the books on my TBR, but I finished two of them and started a third. And guess what, I didn't even stray from my planned TBR. I feel like I deserve to be a little proud of myself. Before I start praising myself too much, here are the books I read during the space readathon. Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries by Neil deGrasse Tyson This one was certainly interesting as it dived deeper into the vastness of the cosmos than Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, which I finished right before starting Death by Black Hole. But for … [Read more...]
Space Readathon TBR: September 2017
I wasn't going to participate in a readathon for a while, but I just have to participate in this one BECAUSE SPACE. I need no other reason than that. This readathon is hosted by Sanne from the YouTube channel booksandquills. It starts today September 15th and ends on the 21st, and the official hashtag is #SpaceReadathon. As the name indicates it's all about reading books about space in one way or another. I'm very excited to dive in, since I've been in the biggest sci-fi mood of my life the past couple of weeks. I'm completely obsessed with space, so this readathon is my favorite (earthly) event of the month. As always I present to you a TBR that may change during the course of the … [Read more...]
