April was a great month. I participated in Tome Topple and met some great bookish people on twitter. I tried to stay awake for Dewey’s 24 hour readathon and failed. I read a lot of graphic novels and I discovered something wonderful that had been there all along. I’ve collected my favorite things from the past month in the following list.
Overdrive. I finally got a library card and discovered that my library have some really great books available online. When I found out, I spent two whole hours just browsing and adding to my wishlist for future me to enjoy.
The book community on twitter. I found out that there are some great people out there who loves books just as much as I do.
The Diviners by Libba Bray. It had been sitting on my kindle for a while, forgotten. I finally picked it up and I loved it. New York in the jazz age, flappers, a snarky (if not a tiny bit annoying yet lovable) main character and occult mystery. What’s not to love?
Walking and listening to audiobooks. I have a hard time just going for a walk, but when I’m listening to an audiobook it’s the most amazing kind of relaxation in the world. This month I especially enjoyed American Gods by Neil Gaiman, which is narrated by George Guidall. The narrator has a deep and soothing voice that fits the book perfectly.
I Hate Fairyland Vol. 1: Madly Ever After by Skottie Young. I bought it in preparation for Dewey’s 24 hour readathon and read it as the first book on my TBR for the event. It’s gory, funny and colorful. It was everything I wished it to be and more.
