Sometimes you just want to read all the books at the same time and that’s when the overly ambitious TBR comes into play. At the end of June I’m going on a road trip from Portland to San Diego and back again with a friend I haven’t seen the last two years. I’m so excited, but I really want to get some reading done before I go.
Ink and Bone and Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine
I have a feeling this is right up my alley. I don’t know much about it, but the series is called The Great Library. Everything involving bookception is bound to be amazing. The third and final book, Ash and Quill, comes out July 11th and it would be awesome to be completely absorbed in the world without waiting too long for the finale. I have both books on my shelf and they have been sitting there too long. It’s time.
Edit: I looked into it and the third book is NOT the final one. Oops.
The Alchemists of Loom by Elise Kova
This has been on my radar since it came out in January this year and with the sequel coming out July 11th I want to read it asap. I follow Elise Kova, the author, on instagram and she’s currently writing the third book in the series. I have a really good feeling about this one. It seems like a mix between fantasy and science fiction with steampunk elements, which honestly sounds like the recipe for success.
Age of Myth by Michael J. Sullivan
I’ve heard so many good things about this book and this author in general. I want to see what all the fuss is about and to be honest it sounds awesome. It’s the first book in a five or six book series. Age of Myth explores the relationship between Gods as a seemingly invincible race and humans in an epic tale of rebellion. The second book Age of Swords comes out July 25th.
Reread Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare and read the sequel, Lord of Shadows.
On the day Lord of Shadows came out I talked about wanting to reread Lady Midnight in order to write a proper review before reading LoS. I hope I’ll get to it in June, buuuuut I kind of want to drag it out a bit more just to be a little closer to the third book.
I leave for Portland in the morning of June 21st, so I have twenty days to crunch some books. I’ll bring my kindle, which is loaded with goodies including The Alchemists of Loom, Age of Myth and both Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows. So, I will most likely be able to read some before bed while on the road. But you know, TBRs can easily change. I’ll be posting a vacation TBR before I leave. Ready, set, read!
