O.W.L’s is a Harry Potter themed readathon hosted by Book Roast on YouTube. It’s happening the entire month of April, so it’s not too late to join. If you’re interested in what it’s all about, you can watch the announcement here.

Something new this year is careers. G from Book Roast has created this amazing PDF of different magical careers and which grades are required to pursue those careers. Since I’m an ambitious Slytherin, I’ve decided to have a go at the career with the most requirements. That’s right, I’m going to try to complete all twelve exams (reading prompts) in order to hopefully become an Alchemist.
Without further ado, here are the books I’m planning on reading during the month of April.
Ancient Runes — Circe by Madeline Miller
Arithmancy — My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows and Brodi Ashton
Astronomy — The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
Care of Magical Creatures — The Illustrated Edition of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
Charms — My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing
Defense Against the Dark Arts — Reincarnation Blues by Michael Poore
Divination — All Systems Red by Martha Wells
Herbology — Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid
History of Magic — The Theban Plays by Sophocles
Muggle Studies — The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Potions — The Scottish Prisoner by Diana Gabaldon
Transfiguration — Strange the Dreamer by Laine Taylor
I’m so excited to participate in this lovely readathon for the first time. Wish me luck! Let me know if you’re participating and which career path you’re aiming for!
Yay, you decided to do this thing! Now I kind of want to do this thing too! I hope you love The Star-Touched Queen and Strange the Dreamer cause they’re my faves ❤️
You should do it! The Star-Touched Queen is going to be a reread, because I really loved it the first time I read it, but it’s been too long. I’m super excited to finally get around to Strange The Dreamer ❤️
