March has been a month of shadowhunters and lots of amazing superheroes. It has also been yet another month of neglecting this blog. Sharing my thoughts on books is one of the things I love the most. But I haven't had the energy to do much about it so far this year. I hope you enjoy my monthly wrap-ups, because thus far in 2018 they are the only kind of post I'm certain of posting every month. I have a lot of stuff clogging my mind lately, most of it being about the classes I'm taking, but hopefully it won't last forever. Anyway, here are my favorite books of the month, the TV shows I watched, books I reread and what's on my radar for April. Favorite books of the month I've boiled it down … [Read more...]
The Month In Review: February 2018
FebruaThe month of February brought lots of gifts. I adopted a cute little rescue bunny from the shelter, which has helped me get back on track and calm down after losing my beloved Elvis. I've named the new little guy Hugo after my grandpa. He has a strong personality, which makes for some hilarious moments. In addition to the new addition to my life, I also went on a short trip to Copenhagen with my mom. It was a lot of fun visiting some of my favorite places, eating great food and generally enjoying life. Now it's back to studying again, which is also kind of great. It's surprisingly nice to be taking classes again. Favorite books of the month Both of my favorite books of the month are … [Read more...]
The Month In Review: January 2018
It's been a rather hectic month. I started some classes, specifically math and chemistry, and it's going great so far. For that reason I haven't been able to read as much as I usually do. In addition to all of this change, I also lost my little beautiful floof bunny, Elvis. He had an inoperable tumor, and since it would be cruel to keep him alive and suffering for my own comfort, he was put to sleep. I'm completely heartbroken about it, I loved him so much, he was my little ray of sunshine. Not to go completely insane, I want to make an effort to keep my blog going. Though I won't be able to post as much, because of homework and other assignments. Fortunately, I read a couple of great books … [Read more...]
The Reading Year in Review: 2017
This previous year has been surprisingly productive for me. I started this blog and I've been actively using it since late April 2017. A feat I never thought possible with my poor track record of maintaining interest in, well, basically anything. I rarely get bored from lack of ideas or entertainment. I get bored with things. Usually very quickly in fact. It's good for generating ideas and thinking outside the box, but not so great for keeping a book blog alive. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been easy. Some months have been pretty terrible. But that's the thing, isn't it? Nothing worth doing is ever easy. If it was, I'd most likely have abandoned this project long ago. Twenty-seventeen … [Read more...]
The Month in Review: December 2017
December was a month of mostly four-star books. It was also a month filled with a very good podcast I just discovered. And of course, it was the last month of 2017. I sound like a broken record, yet still, every new year I'm amazed at how fast time goes by. This year has been my absolute best reading year, but I'll (hopefully) post an entire post about that soon. Now I want to talk about December. I'll remind you that this thing I'm doing here is still very new. In fact, it's only my second time doing it. So bear with me while I experiment in order to figure out what to include in these posts every month. Enough blabbering, here we go: Favorite books of the month My two favorite books of … [Read more...]
The Month in Review: November 2017
It always comes as a surprise to me when another year is coming to an end. Yet, it's never too late to introduce something new. I therefore present to you, a new monthly wrap-up where I share my favorite books of the month, which movies and tv shows I enjoyed, ect. I might expand it in the future as I come up with more ideas, but for now I'll stick to the basics. The month of November has been weird. It went by so fast, but, at the same time, it felt like an eternity. I've read a bunch of books this month. Honestly, I think it might have been my best reading month of the year. Without further introduction and babbling, let's get on with it: FAVORITE BOOKS OF THE MONTH To be honest, the … [Read more...]
