On Friday the 4th, the first day of Tome Topple, I read the last 200 pages of A Court of Thorns and Roses. Initially, I thought I’d be able to finish it before the reaction started, but alas, I had to spend my first day reading a book that didn’t count towards my goals for Tome Topple. Just like I did during BookTube-A-Thon.
On the second day I picked up my first actual book for Tome Topple. A couple of days into reading my first tome, I realized how utterly unrealistic my TBR was. How could I possible think I’d be able to read a total of 3,948 pages in just TWO WEEKS. Sometimes I wonder what goes through my mind at certain times. And I have come to the conclusion that my mind works in mysterious ways when it comes to estimations.
I aimed to complete most of the challenges, and I have succeeded in doing that.
1. Read more than 1 tome — COMPLETED
2. Read a graphic novel (still over 500 pages!) — FAILED
3. Read a tome that is part of a series — COMPLETED
4. Buddy read a tome — FAILED
5. Read an adult novel — COMPLETED
During Tome Topple round 4, I finished three of the tomes on my tbr. I’m really happy about the amount of reading I managed to do, even if it was only a tiny bit of my tbr. Here are the tomes I read:
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. It took me six and a half days to read. I didn’t have a whole lot of down time that first week, but I absolutely loved ACOMAF. It’s leagues ahead of ACOTAR, and I fully understand the fandom’s love for Rhysand. He’s a babe. And I truly hope they never make a movie, because if they cast the wrong guy, I’m going to get real mad.
The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell. I loved it so much and I want to read the second book right now please. I at least hope there’s going to be a second book, since it ended with a lot of story yet to be told.
Abaddon’s Gate by James S. A. Corey. I listened to this one as an audiobook. I flew through it while cleaning and doing chores around the house. I’m really loving this series, it has opened my eyes to how awesome space operas can be.
In addition to reading some amazing books, I completed almost all of the Instagram challenges. There were only a couple of days I missed, one of them being sock Sunday. Otherwise I feel like I did pretty good *patting my self on the shoulder*.
Tome Topple is one of my absolute favorite readathons, and I hope there’ll be one more round before the end of the year. Next time I really want to be able to take part in more twitter sprints, because that’s part of what makes a readathon fun. That’s it for this round. If you participated, I hope you had an awesome time!
Tome Topple Round 4 (August 2017) stats
1.678 pages read.
3 reading challenges completed.
12 Instagram challenges completed.
That’s amazing! I want to read all of these now.
Thank you! You should definitely continue reading The Expanse series, it’s so good.
